  1. "Big house, small kitchen"

    Albany Road N4

The existing house had two generously proportioned reception rooms and a glorious, cavernous hallway. Tucked away at the back was a small galley kitchen. The resultant scheme creates two spaces running from front to back of the house. The two reception rooms have been joined together exiting into the garden via the original French windows. The galley kitchen has been demolished, the rebuilt structure extending outwards into the garden and inwards through into the hallway creating an open vista from the hallway through to the garden. The extension is glazed on two sides with an open glass corner. It opens up to the garden via the side on to a yorkstone patio. A large picture window at the end looks out onto the garden and the water feature set beneath it. The dining table sits in front of the picture window. At night the water is lit from underneath creating a karmic atmosphere.
