This project was more of a remodelling exercise than an extension, albeit there were extended bathrooms at first and second floor levels. The property had received numerous incremental additions over time but none of them related particularly well to the main floor spaces or the garden beyond.
The ground floor is opened up from front to back, opening out into an 80 foot west facing garden. At first floor the bathroom was re-orientated to adjoin the master bedroom and a large picture window was created at the end of the master bedroom looking out over the garden. An additional family bathroom was created at second floor for the younger members of the household.
The new rear elevation is finished in sand/cement render setting it out from the main body of the house and all the new fenestration is tied together with the same aluminium glazing system.
