This project had the tiniest courtyard garden at just under 4m deep. The brief was to extend the kitchen into the side return therefore removing over 40% of the garden area. The outcome is an external space that feels more generous than what was there before. It's not an illusion, it's just that with the transparency of the rear elevation, the courtyard feels part of the kitchen and the kitchen feels part of the courtyard.
A full renovation of the internal and external fabric of the property was also undertaken within the works. Materials used included engineered oak floors, worktops in reconstituted stone and oak, coloured glass splashbacks and the patio finished in a terracotta tile.
